Drones in Bydgoszcz: education, safety and events for residents

We’re an initiative of enthusiasts who want to do useful things together with the city, schools and emergency services — from a demo lesson to a family drone picnic.

Initiator: Andrii Shramko

What we can do together

The city and sports facilities

A family drone event in the format tried and tested in Opole: a learning zone, a mini track, simulators. The organiser is the host institution.

Schools and educational facilities

A free demo lesson with an FPV simulator on 3D scans of real places. A micro-drone demonstration supervised by the school.

Emergency services: PSP, OSP, WOPR

A photorealistic scan of your training ground and flight training in the simulator before you take off for real.

Universities

An open-source FPV simulator built on Gaussian Splatting (MIT) — ready for student projects and research clubs.

Looking for a venue

We’re looking for a venue. Could it be yours?

In Bydgoszcz we don’t yet have a room for workshops or a hall for regular micro-drone flying. We’re looking for an institution, school or company willing to let us use a space free of charge.

Workshop room

  • approx. 20–40 m², tables and power sockets (soldering irons)
  • windows or ventilation
  • 1–2 evenings a month or a weekend

Hall for micro-drone flying

  • a gym or sports hall, ideally approx. 20 × 10 m or larger
  • ceiling height of approx. 5 m or more
  • regularly, e.g. once a week for 2 hours in the evening
  • micro-drones with propeller guards, weighing a few dozen grams

Activities with children and young people are organised by the host — under its own child safeguarding standards. We bring the know-how, simulators and drones. At this stage we sign nothing and pay for nothing.

Alpha version

Fly FPV over a real place — in your browser

ShramkoGSFPV is a free FPV simulator created by Andrii Shramko. You fly over photorealistic 3D scans (Gaussian Splatting) of real places — nothing to install.

  • Free and open source (MIT licence).
  • Over 1,300 public 3D scans to choose from.
  • Your own place: scan it with a drone or phone, then fly it in the simulator.
  • Runs in browsers with WebGPU (Chrome, Edge).

It’s an alpha version — we’re developing it together with pilots.

What exists today and what comes after registration

Today

  • An informal community of enthusiasts and the RC Bydgoszcz group on Facebook.
  • The initiator acts as a private individual.
  • Declarations made through this site are non-binding.
  • We do not collect money or equipment.

Once the association is founded

  • A founding meeting (at least 7 people) and entry in the National Court Register (KRS).
  • Agreements and partnerships with institutions and companies.
  • Our own events, projects and grant applications.

When it is founded depends on how many people get involved.

FAQ

Can you sign a contract or a memorandum of understanding?

Not at this stage — the association is not yet registered. We can talk, prepare a plan and run a pilot organised by your institution.

What does it cost the institution?

The demo lesson and the conversation are free. Event costs (venue, insurance) depend on the format and are borne by the organiser.

Who is responsible for activities with children?

The host — under its own child safeguarding standards. We bring the know-how, simulators and equipment.

Do you fly legally?

Yes: operator registration, A1/A3 competencies, operator third-party liability insurance (OC), zones checked in DroneTower. We do not fly over assemblies of people.

Write to us

A few clicks and one text field. I reply personally.

This is a non-binding expression of interest. The association has not yet been founded or registered — at this stage we do not enter into sponsorship agreements and do not accept money or equipment. Andrii Shramko (private individual, initiator) will reply.
